KEENE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) A crucial transition from brainstorming to execution is on the horizon for downtown Keene. With major Main Street infrastructure updates fast approaching, the Keene Downtown Group is gathering local business owners, residents, and civic partners to select and fast-track priority projects for the city center.

The upcoming planning summit takes place Thursday, Sept. 17, at SHOWROOM at 20 Commercial St. To accommodate varying work schedules, The downtown group is hosting two duplicate workshops: a morning session from 8:30 to 10 a.m. and an afternoon session from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Attendance at a single session is all that is required for full participation.

Rather than starting from scratch, the agenda focuses on sifting through months of community feedback. Participants will evaluate proposed public events, retail support strategies, and cultural initiatives, narrowing down the top contenders to launch in the coming months. Keene Downtown Group leaders will also detail their roadmap following a recent Northern Border Regional Commission grant award.

“This meeting is about deciding together which ideas have the greatest potential and beginning to turn them into action,” noted Mark Rebillard, downtown group president, highlighting the shift toward active implementation.
