KEENE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) A community-driven celebration of art and inclusion is returning to downtown Keene this summer, as organizers prepare for the Pride Art Crawl, a multi-week event highlighting LGBTQIA+ artists and local businesses.
Scheduled to run from June 12 through June 28, the event will turn storefronts and commercial spaces throughout the city’s downtown into temporary galleries. Visitors will be able to walk between locations at their own pace, viewing artwork, meeting artists, and supporting small businesses that are participating in the effort.
The Pride Art Crawl is being organized through a partnership that includes the City of Keene’s Human Rights Committee, Keene Pride, and the Monadnock Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) Coalition. Together, the groups aim to create a visible and accessible platform for LGBTQIA+ artists across the region.
Organizers say the event is designed not only as an arts showcase, but also as a way to strengthen community connections and promote a sense of belonging. By integrating artwork into everyday business spaces, the crawl encourages residents and visitors to engage with both the creative community and the downtown economy.
A call for artists is currently open, with a submission deadline of May 17. LGBTQIA+ artists working in any medium are invited to apply for inclusion in the event. Selected participants will have their work displayed in participating downtown locations during the crawl.
Event organizers say the format is intentionally flexible and inclusive, allowing attendees to explore at their own pace while interacting with artists and businesses that support diversity and representation.
The Pride Art Crawl is part of broader regional efforts to promote equity and inclusion, with organizers emphasizing collaboration between nonprofits, municipal groups, and local businesses.
