Police in Milford, NH, are investigating a suspicious death after a man was found shot outside Dollar General on Wilton Road. Authorities are asking for public assistance from anyone who was in the area around 8:26 p.m. on November 7, when multiple gunshots were reported.

A massive fire engulfed the long-abandoned Sportsman’s Lounge on Canal Street early Thursday morning, cutting power and communication services for thousands of residents in Brattleboro and nearby towns. Christine Allen, former executive director of Keene-based Monadnock Peer Support (MPS), faces federal charges for allegedly embezzling nearly $200,000 from the mental health nonprofit. The indictment claims Allen, 50, misused MPS funds between 2021 and 2023 for personal expenses, including Amazon orders, home renovations, and recreational equipment. Charged with four counts of wire fraud, Allen could face up to 20 years in prison per count if convicted. The investigation was conducted by the FBI and IRS.
