KEENE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) An officer-involved shooting has prompted an investigation by the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office.
The incident occurred late this afternoon near the intersection of Baker and Colby Streets, where law enforcement officials encountered a man reportedly armed with a weapon.
Authorities revealed that the situation unfolded after a 911 call alerted police to a person in distress in the area. Upon arrival, officers encountered the armed individual, resulting in a shooting that left the man injured. He was immediately transported to a hospital and is receiving medical care. As of now, his condition remains unknown.
No police officers were hurt during the incident, and officials have assured the public that there is no current threat to safety. In line with standard procedure, the identity of the officer involved is being withheld until a formal interview is conducted.
