KEENE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) Authorities have confirmed that the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Christian Walker, of Orange, MA, early Wednesday morning in Keene has been ruled a homicide.
According to New Hampshire Attorney General John M. Formella, New Hampshire State Police Colonel Mark B. Hall, and Keene Police Chief Steve Stewart, an autopsy conducted this afternoon by Associate Medical Examiner Dr. Abigail Alexander determined that Mr. Walker died from a single gunshot wound to the abdomen. The manner of death was determined to be homicide.
The shooting occurred in the Riverside Plaza parking lot on Winchester Street in Keene. Law enforcement officers responded to a 911 call early Wednesday morning and found Mr. Walker suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to Cheshire Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased at 1:49 a.m.
Officials report that all individuals involved in the incident have been identified, and there is no known threat to the general public. The exact circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under active investigation.
As part of the ongoing investigation, the section of the Riverside Plaza parking lot from HomeGoods to Sierra was cordoned off.
