KEENE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) The City of Keene is hitting pause on its planned July 31 Skate Park Community Night, delaying the celebration until the new park is fully ready for action.
According to Keene Parks and Recreation, the final stages of construction—including the delivery and installation of fencing—are still underway. The fencing is a key safety feature, and officials say they want the park to be at its best before opening it up for a full public celebration.
A ribbon-cutting event is still in the works and will be announced once construction is complete.
While the skate park awaits its final touches, Keene Parks and Recreation is keeping the summer momentum going with several events already on the calendar:
- Concerts in the Common with the Tom Foolery Band on Wednesday, July 30 at 7 p.m.
-
Movies Under the Stars, featuring Mufasa at Fuller Park on Thursday, July 31 at dusk
-
Family Pool Party at Wheelock Park on Friday, Aug. 1 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
