WINCHESTER, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) A community fundraiser featuring classic cars, trucks, and motorcycles is revving up to support Angie’s Pizzeria after a fire forced the Swanzey restaurant to shut its doors indefinitely.
The benefit will take place Saturday, Aug. 10, from noon to 5 p.m. at Monadnock Speedway, located at 840 Keene Road. The event will include a full auto show with prizes, food and beverage concessions, and family-friendly activities—all aimed at helping Angie’s Pizzeria recover from the recent fire that damaged its building on Route 10.
The car show will feature a variety of vehicles including 4-by-4s and motorcycles, with a $20 entry fee per show vehicle. The top prize: a $400 gift card to KD Prestige Detailing for Best in Show. An interactive touch-a-truck exhibit will also be available for kids and families.
General admission is $5 per person, and businesses can participate as vendors for $50 per space. Food and drinks will be available throughout the day, and all proceeds will benefit the pizzeria’s recovery efforts.
The event was organized in response to the July 26 fire that severely damaged Angie’s Pizzeria, a in the Swanzey community for more than a decade. The fire, which began around 10:10 p.m., tore through the attic and roof of the building. Firefighters from multiple departments responded under a second alarm and worked for hours to extinguish the flames.
Though the interior dining area was spared major damage and no injuries were reported, the restaurant is expected to be closed for at least six months. A GoFundMe campaign raised more than $6,000 toward a $10,000 goal to support rebuilding efforts.
The Swanzey Fire Department determined an electrical issue sparked the blaze.
