KEENE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) A Verizon outage in Hollis is causing an extended disruption to data, voice, text and wireless home Internet services in Keene and nearby communities  after a network problem began Wednesday morning.

The outage started just after around 9:1o a.m., and Verizon crews have been working to diagnose and repair the issue since mid-morning. Engineers determined additional repairs were needed, delaying the original restoration timeline. The company now estimates full service will be restored by 12:29 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 14.

Until then, customers may experience limited connectivity for calls, texts, and data usage. Verizon advises that those with Wi-Fi access can enable Wi-Fi calling on their smartphones to make and receive calls or send text messages while the cellular network remains down.

The company apologized for the disruption and encouraged customers to check its outage map or sign in to their accounts for the latest updates.
