KEENE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) The City of Keene has announced a Winter Weather Parking Ban for late Wednesday night into early Thursday morning.

Public Works Director officials say no on-street parking will be permitted on Center Street, Roxbury Street, Spring Street, Summer Street, or Winter Street from 11 p.m. Wednesday through 7 a.m. Thursday. The restriction is intended to allow snow removal crews to safely and efficiently clear roadways during the overnight hours.

While the ban is in effect, the Commercial Street parking lot will remain open overnight Wednesday for public use. Drivers who typically park on the affected streets are encouraged to move their vehicles to that lot to avoid fines or towing.

City officials remind residents that public parking lots are available during winter weather parking bans when on-street parking is prohibited. However, overnight availability rotates among lots throughout the week to allow each area to be cleared of snow. Motorists are urged to carefully read posted signage to avoid reserved spaces, which could result in a ticket or tow.

For complete details about winter parking rules and resources, residents can visit KeeneNH.gov/Snow.

The City also encourages people to sign up for parking ban alerts by text message. When a Winter Weather Parking Ban is declared, notifications are sent via email and text (SMS), posted on the city’s website, and shared on Facebook, Instagram, and digital signs in key locations throughout the community.
