WINCHESTER, N.H. – (MyKeeneNow) Winchester police, with assistance from multiple agencies, executed an emergency search warrant at 22 Jones Road after receiving reports of animal neglect.

According to a news released issued Wednesday by Winchester Police Chief David Rice, the search uncovered several animals in distress, including dogs, cats, a pig, and various waterfowl. Officers, along with an investigator from the Monadnock Humane Society, removed five dogs, three cats, and a deceased bird from the property. The rescued animals have been transported to the Monadnock Humane Society in Swanzey for care and rehabilitation.

Though no arrests have been made yet, the investigation is ongoing.

Hinsdale police and the humane society assisted the Winchester department expressed in the case.
