CHARLESTOWN, N.H. – (MyKeeneNow)–Authorities announced today that the victims who died in a fire at a mobile home in Charlestown Thursday have been identified.
Emergency services received a 9-1-1 call just before 7 a.m. reporting smoke emanating from a mobile home at 1B Crown Point Drive. Upon arrival, Charlestown firefighters discovered an adult male deceased inside the home. After the fire was extinguished, a second victim, an adult female, was found. There were no other reported injuries.
The state medical examiner’s office has identified the victims as 36-year-old Hope Schraer of Enfield, N.H., and 38-year-old Allen Ballou of Royalton, Vt. The cause of both of their deaths was determined to be smoke inhalation and the manner of death was accidental.
The investigation into the origin and cause of the fire by the N.H. State Fire Marshal’s Office and Charlestown fire and police departments is active and ongoing.
