KEENE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) – One man is in custody after police responded to an incident overnight in the parking lot of the Hampton Inn on Key Road in Keene.
According to a news release from the Keene Police Department, officers responded to the parking lot shortly before 2:00 Saturday morning after hotel staff reported a man was being aggressive towards other patrons.
On scene officers located Corey Hale, 38, who was armed with a knife. Hale refused to cooperate with police and began to harm himself with the knife. The release says less-lethal kinetic impact munitions were deployed and Hale was ultimately taken into custody without further incident.
Hale was treated at the scene for his injuries then taken to the Emergency Department at Cheshire Medical Center for further treatment, before being transported to the Cheshire County House of Corrections. He’s being held on preventative detention on charges of Resisting Arrest and Disorderly Conduct and is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday, July 15th.
Keene Police were assisted on scene by New Hampshire State Police and the Keene Fire Department. No other injuries were reported in the incident, and there is no further threat to public safety.
