KEENE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) The City of Keene’s Ward Optimization Weeks (WOW!) program is returning this summer, bringing dedicated Public Works crews into each of the city’s five wards for a week of concentrated maintenance and infrastructure improvements.
The 2026 program begins Monday, July 6, in Ward 1 and continues through Aug. 7, with crews moving to a different ward each week. City officials said the initiative is intended to provide an equitable distribution of maintenance services while addressing issues identified by residents and improving the overall condition of public infrastructure.
During each ward’s designated week, Public Works staff will complete a variety of projects, including road and sidewalk repairs, crosswalk repainting, traffic sign replacement, roadside vegetation trimming, storm drain and culvert maintenance, sewer system inspections and cleaning, hydrant painting, valve repairs, graffiti removal and litter cleanup.
The schedule for this year’s program is:
- Ward 1: July 6-10
- Ward 2: July 13-17
- Ward 3: July 20-24
- Ward 4: July 27-31
- Ward 5: Aug. 3-7
Residents are encouraged to report non-emergency maintenance concerns before their ward’s scheduled week using the SeeClickFix website or mobile app. Requests can also be submitted by contacting the Public Works Department at 352-6550 if assistance is needed.
City officials said community feedback helps crews identify areas needing attention and ensures work is prioritized where residents see the greatest need.
