DUBLIN, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) An 18-year-old Sharon man was arrested Saturday night after police say he fled a traffic stop on a dirt bike and led officers on a high-speed pursuit through Marlborough and Dublin.

The incident began around 8:16 p.m. Aug. 29, when a Marlborough police officer conducting an overtime patrol funded through the New Hampshire Office of Highway Safety observed a group of motorcycles traveling west on Route 101 near Roxbury Road.

According to police, two of the motorcycles were traveling well above the posted speed limit. An officer attempted to stop the group, but three of the five riders allegedly fled.

Police said one rider, later identified as 18-year-old Carson Traffie of Sharon, was operating a red 2024 Honda 450 dirt bike. Traffie reportedly reversed direction near Route 124 and continued east on Route 101 toward Dublin.

The pursuit continued at high speeds through Dublin before ending near Old County Road, where police said Traffie’s motorcycle ran out of fuel.

Traffie was taken into custody without further incident and transported to the Cheshire County House of Corrections. He faces charges of felony reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, misdemeanor disobeying an officer, misdemeanor resisting arrest and reckless operation, a violation.

The motorcycle was removed from the scene by Keene Towing. Traffie was later released after posting cash bail.

Marlborough police are continuing to investigate and are asking the public for help identifying the other riders who fled the traffic stop. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Marlborough Police Department.
