KEENE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) Cheshire Medical Center will offer several opportunities this fall for established patients to receive their seasonal flu vaccine, including an appointment-based drive-thru clinic at its Keene campus.
The Dartmouth Health facility’s main flu clinic will be held Saturday, Oct. 10, at 580 Court St. Patients must schedule an appointment in advance through the myDH patient portal or by contacting their primary care provider.
Appointments at the Court Street location can be arranged by calling 603-354-6760. Patients who receive care at Cheshire’s Maple Avenue location can call 603-354-6900.
The drive-thru clinic will operate from the hospital’s Employee Parking Lot, located behind the main building.
Cheshire Medical Center’s Walpole Family Medicine office, at 11 Westminster St., will also hold a clinic for its patients on Wednesday, Oct. 14. Appointments are required and can be scheduled by calling 603-756-3960.
Both clinics will offer standard flu vaccines for people 6 months and older, along with high-dose vaccines intended for adults 65 and older.
Patients who cannot attend one of the scheduled clinics have additional options. Cheshire’s Retail Pharmacy will provide standard and high-dose flu vaccines on a walk-in basis to established patients age 9 and older Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Flu vaccines may also be available during regularly scheduled primary care and pediatric appointments. Parents and guardians can ask about receiving a flu vaccine for themselves or their children during an existing pediatric visit.
Local pharmacies also offer seasonal flu vaccinations.
Cheshire Medical Center recommends flu vaccination for most people age 6 months and older, with limited exceptions, as a way to reduce the risk of influenza and serious complications.
