SURRY, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) – Surry Mountain Lake’s popular swimming beach has been temporarily closed after recent water quality tests revealed bacteria levels slightly above New Hampshire’s safety standards. The routine testing, conducted weekly, occasionally detects elevated bacteria levels, which are not uncommon. In response, officials have posted signs at the site to inform visitors of the situation.
Further testing is scheduled for Monday to determine if the water is safe for swimming. For more information, residents and visitors are encouraged to contact the local office at 352-4130.
