KEENE, NH – The aftershocks of an earthquake centered in New Jersey were felt in the Monadnock Region and across the Northeast Friday morning.
The U.S. Geological Survey reported a quake with a preliminary magnitude of 4.7, centered near Lebanon, New Jersey, or about 45 miles west of New York City and 50 miles north of Philadelphia.
The quake happened at about 10:23 Friday morning and was felt for about 45 seconds in Keene. Residents around the Monadnock Region reported feeling it as well.
