BRATTLEBORO, V.T. (MyKeeneNow) – Police in Brattleboro are asking for the public’s help in identifying the culprit of some vandalism in town Monday.
In a Facebook post police said that one of the town’s pay-display parking kiosks was vandalized with the words “kill cops”.
“Today, we had an unfortunate display of hate in our community, where someone decided to vandalize a pay-display station…”
The post said the vandalism occurred as law enforcement from all over the State of Vermont gathered for the funeral of Border Patrol Agent David Maland, who was killed in the line of duty during a traffic stop on January 20th in Coventry, Vermont.
The department also said they join the rest of the nation in mourning the deaths of four police officers who were also killed in the line of duty this past weekend in Mississippi, Pennsyvania, and Virginia.
Anyone with information about the vandalism is asked to contact the department at 802-257-7946 and speak to case investigator Sgt. Mike Cable. Tips can also be submitted on the town’s website.
