SWANZEY, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) – Cheshire County EMS has launched the Cheshire Regional EMS Academy, a new initiative aimed at enhancing emergency medical services training across the region.

In collaboration with Scott Symonds of Next Generation Responder Development Services, the academy will offer a range of certification programs, including Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), and Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) courses. These programs will be open to participants from both within and outside of Cheshire County.

“We’re excited to collaborate with Cheshire County EMS to bring quality, interactive, in-person EMS education to the region,” said Symonds. “Our like-minded dedication to clinical education models and professional development for responders will make for amazing opportunities for our EMS services in the region. We are excited to get started!”

The academy also plans to provide ongoing professional development through continuing education, advanced medical training, and leadership development. In addition, it will expand community outreach by offering public courses such as CPR and Stop the Bleed training.

“The launch of the Cheshire Regional EMS Academy marks a significant step forward in our mission to provide top-tier EMS training and education,” said Mark Kreamer, Chief of Cheshire
County EMS. “By partnering with Scott Symonds of Next Generation Responder Development Services, we are ensuring that our EMS personnel—and the broader community—receive the
highest level of training and preparedness.”

The initiative seeks to improve the skills and preparedness of EMS personnel while increasing access to life-saving education for the broader community.
