AP Race Call: Democrat Maggie Goodlander wins election to U.S. House in New Hampshire’s 2nd Congressional District

Democrat Maggie Goodlander won election to a U.S. House seat representing New Hampshire on Wednesday, holding the seat for her party. She will succeed Democratic Rep. Annie Kuster, who is retiring after six terms in Congress. Goodlander is a former senior White House aide and is married to Jake Sullivan, President Joe Biden’s national security adviser. She defeated Republican Lily Tang Williams, who also ran for the seat in 2022 and finished third that year in the Republican primary. The Associated Press declared Goodlander the winner at 1:07 a.m. EST.

Keene State women’s ice hockey team wins first game in program history

Brianna Finke played hero for the Owls as she not only scored the first goal in program history, she scored the game-winning overtime goal for the Keene State College women’s ice hockey team in their 3-2 overtime win over Plymouth State University for the first win in the Owls’ program history.

Keene State Owls fall to Purple Knights in swimming and diving Season opening meet

In the Owls’ first scored meet of their 2024-2025 season, the Keene State College men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams hosted the Purple Knights from Saint Michael’s College on Saturday afternoon at the Spaulding Pool/Recreation Center. KSC picked up six event wins on the contest, but the men’s team was defeated, 212-76 and the women’s team fell, 174-126.

Four Keene State student athletes earn weekly Little East Conference awards

Four Keene State student-athletes were recognized by the Little East Conference for their performances during the week of October 7-13. Field hockey players Grace Seabury and Katelyn Nicotera earned honors, with Seabury named LEC Co-Offensive Player of the Week and Nicotera receiving Rookie and Goalkeeper of the Week awards. In women’s swimming and diving, Megan Strzegowski was named Diver of the Week, while freshman Madelynn Keyes earned Rookie Diver of the Week. Both teams will compete in upcoming home events.

Keene State Owls crush Corsairs, 3-0, for first LEC win of the year

Keene State College women’s soccer secured a 3-0 victory over UMass-Dartmouth, earning their first Little East Conference win of the season. Goals from Elizabeth Tschudin, Joclynn Tyler, and Allison Kenyon, along with five saves by goalkeeper Riley Andriski, ended KSC’s five-game scoreless streak. The Owls improve to 4-6-2 and next face Framingham State at home on Oct. 9.
