KEENE, N.H. — An 18-year-old Munsonville resident suffered serious injuries Saturday after a rollover crash on Route 9 in Keene.
Emergency crews were called to the area east of the Route 10 intersection shortly before noon on June 20 for a report of a vehicle that had overturned. Upon arrival, first responders located a 1997 Jeep Wrangler off the roadway and determined the driver had been ejected during the crash.
Police identified the driver as Carter Howard, who was the only person in the vehicle at the time of the incident.
Howard was initially taken by ambulance to Cheshire Medical Center before being flown by helicopter to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon for treatment of serious injuries.
The crash prompted the closure of Route 9 for approximately three and a half hours while investigators processed the scene and gathered evidence. According to Keene Police, early findings suggest speed may have been a factor in the collision.
The investigation remains ongoing and is being conducted by the Keene Police Department’s Collision Analysis Team. Keene Police were assisted by the Keene Fire Department and the New Hampshire State Police Troop C.
Anyone who witnessed the crash or has information that could assist investigators is asked to contact Detective Andrew Lippincott at 357-9820.
