Witches On The Lake — Oct. 4

The 2nd Annual Witches on the Lake returns to Richardson Park in Swanzey on Sunday, Oct. 4.

Participants are invited to dress as witches or warlocks and paddle across Swanzey Lake by kayak or paddleboard. Check-in begins at 1 p.m., with paddling scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Participants must bring their own self-powered watercraft and life jackets. Children 15 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.

Fall/Halloween Doormat Painting — Oct. 8

Get a head start on Halloween decorating at Frogg Brewing in Swanzey on Thursday, Oct. 8.

The Fall/Halloween Doormat Painting workshop runs from 6 to 8 p.m., with participants able to choose from fall and Halloween designs including pumpkins, ghosts, bats and other spooky imagery. Supplies are included and the workshop is designed for beginners.

The Brattleboro North KOA Journey in East Dummerston, Vt., is hosting its Haunted Halloween Weekend beginning Friday, Oct. 16.
