KEENE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) The City of Keene is advising residents and commuters to prepare for several upcoming construction projects that will affect traffic flow at locations across the city over the next week.
According to an announcement from the City’s Public Works Department, sewer lining operations and roadway improvements are scheduled on North Lincoln Street, Roxbury Street, and Marlboro Street beginning Friday, May 8.
Work on North Lincoln Street is set to begin at 7 a.m. Friday between Roxbury Street and Beaver Street. Contractor Insituform will complete sewer lining work in the area, with alternating one-way traffic in place while crews are active. Officials expect the project to wrap up by the end of the day, allowing normal traffic patterns to resume afterward.
Additional sewer lining work is scheduled for Roxbury Street beginning Monday, May 11, at 7 a.m. The project area stretches between North Lincoln Street and Douglas Street and will also require alternating one-way traffic during construction hours. City officials anticipate that work will be completed the same day.
A larger roadway improvement project is planned for Marlboro Street beginning Wednesday, May 13, at 8 a.m. Contractor Bazin Brothers will perform saw cutting and pavement milling between the Main/Marlboro/Winchester Street roundabout and the Marlboro Street and Adams Street intersection. Drivers should expect alternating traffic in the work zone during active construction. The project is expected to continue through Friday, May 15, with roads reopening to normal traffic at the end of each workday.
Meanwhile, the City said no construction activity is planned next week for the George Street Bridge replacement project, and the roadway will remain fully open under normal traffic conditions.
City officials thanked residents for their patience and encouraged drivers to slow down, use caution in work zones, and follow posted traffic controls.
