KEENE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) A Keene man is facing multiple felony and misdemeanor charges after police say an incident involving a firearm at a local shopping plaza Tuesday night escalated into a vehicle pursuit, a foot chase and an attempted break-in at an Elm Street apartment.
According to the Keene Police Department, officers were dispatched to the Monadnock Marketplace shopping center on Ash Brook Road shortly before 11:30 p.m. on May 19 after receiving reports of a criminal threatening incident involving a gun.
Police located the suspect in a vehicle and attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but authorities say the driver refused to pull over and fled. The pursuit ended on West Street when the vehicle struck raised curbing in the parking lot of Mascoma Bank and became disabled.
The driver then ran from the scene on foot, prompting a search of the surrounding area.
While officers were searching, dispatchers received a report from a resident on Elm Street who said a person armed with a gun was attempting to force entry into an apartment. Responding officers determined the individual was the same suspect involved in the earlier firearm complaint and vehicle chase.
Police arrested Robie Fish, 36, of Keene, at the Elm Street location.
Fish has been charged with criminal threatening with a firearm, two counts of reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, felon in possession of a dangerous weapon, burglary, possession of a controlled drug, disobeying an officer, conduct after an accident and resisting arrest or detention.
He was held at the Cheshire County House of Corrections pending arraignment in the 8th Circuit CourtāKeene on Wednesday afternoon.
The investigation remains active, and police said additional charges may be filed.
Keene police were assisted during the incident by the Cheshire County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit, New Hampshire State Police, Swanzey Police Department and Chesterfield Police Department.
Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the incident at Monadnock Marketplace or the ensuing pursuit to contact the Keene Police Department at 603-357-9813.
