JAFFREY, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) Emergency crews responded to a reported aircraft crash at Jaffrey Airport shortly after noon Friday.
According to emergency radio communications, a small single-engine aircraft crashed near the airport on Turnpike Road at approximately 12:02 p.m. Initial reports indicated one person was trapped inside the aircraft following the crash.
Dispatchers reported that the sole occupant of the plane suffered burn injuries. A medical helicopter was requested to the scene, and UMass LifeFlight was dispatched to transport the injured person for treatment.
Fire, EMS and mutual aid responders from neighboring communities were called to assist at the airport as crews worked to stabilize the scene.
The extent of the pilot’s injuries and the circumstances surrounding the crash were not immediately known Friday afternoon. Authorities had not yet released additional information.
