Brattleboro police began investigating the vandalism Wednesday after the graffiti was discovered at the transportation center. Investigators determined the damage occurred overnight and identified the two people allegedly responsible as 20-year-old Maya Makokha of Brattleboro and 20-year-old Haroon Ahmed of Putney.
Both were cited for unlawful mischief, classified by police as hate motivated. They are scheduled to appear in Windham County Superior Court on Oct. 20.
