CHESTERFIELD, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) – One man was taken into custody following a disturbance at a hotel in West Chesterfield late Wednesday night.

According to a news release from the Chesterfield Police Department, officers were dispatched to the Riverside Hotel shortly after 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday for an ongoing domestic disturbance.

Shortly after arriving at the scene Officer Steve Gordon encountered Steven Miller, who had sustained injuries on his arms from the altercation. He was armed with a handgun and resisted arrest and Officer Gordon attempted to detain him. Miller fled on foot towards Brattleboro, but was taken into custody following a short foot pursuit.

Miller was taken to Cheshire Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries and was arraigned in Keene District Court Thursday afternoon. He’s currently being held in preventative detention at the Cheshire County House of Corrections.

He’s charged with Resisting Arrest, being a Felon in Possession of a Dangerous Weapon, and Possession of a Controlled Drug.

Police didn’t provide any details on the altercation that prompted the domestic disturbance call, but did say that the investigation remains ongoing.
