BRATTLEBORO, V.T. (MyKeeneNow) – Two New York City residents are facing charges in Vermont following a traffic stop that lead to the seizure of more than 1,000 bags of suspected fentanyl and more than 50 grams of crack cocaine in Brattleboro.
Brattleboro police conducted a traffic stop at the Quality Inn on Putney Road Wednesday and seized the vehicle from the operator. Officers executed a search warrant and located 500 bags of suspected fentanyl and 26.72 grams of suspected crack cocaine inside of the vehicle.
Officers returned to the Quality Inn Wednesday evening and arrested the operator, identified as Pablo Rodriguez, 63, of New York, New York. A search of the room Rodriguez shared with Lynn Ferguson, 38, also of New York, uncovered another 960 bags of suspected fentanyl and 24.6 grams of suspected crack cocaine. A small amount of suspected fentanyl and $2,667 in cash was found on Rodriguez’s person as well.
In total, Rodriguez was found to be in possession of 1,460 bags of suspected fentanyl and 51.32 grams of suspected crack cocaine.
Ferguson was arrested as well for the drugs found in the hotel room. Rodriguez was held in lieu of $100,000 bail and Ferguson in lieu of $50,000 bail. Both are scheduled to be arraigned at the Windham County Superior Court Criminal Division on Thursday.
