KEENE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) Keene State College is warning students, employees and visitors about recent thefts from vehicles in the Winchester Street parking lot.
The Keene State College Department of Campus Safety issued a timely warning Tuesday, Oct. 6, under the federal Jeanne Clery Act after receiving two reports of thefts from motor vehicles over the past two days.
In one incident, both license plates were removed from a vehicle. In the other, a duffel bag containing personal belongings was stolen.
Campus Safety is reminding the campus community to take steps to protect vehicles and personal property, including:
- Always lock vehicles and close all windows when leaving.
- Avoid leaving valuables in vehicles. If items must be left inside, conceal them from view before leaving.
- Do not leave loose change or other items in cup holders or other visible areas.
- Never leave valuables in plain sight.
- Never leave keys inside a vehicle.
- Report suspicious people or activity to Campus Safety or the Keene Police Department.
