(MyKeeneNow) – New Hampshire is represented at the 2024 Paralympic Games by two athletes, Elizabeth “Liza” Corso from Newmarket and Noelle Lambert from Manchester. Both athletes bring with them a wealth of experience in track and field, having previously competed in the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics.
Corso, 21, of Newmarket, is a para track and field athlete who first made a name for herself at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games, where she won a silver medal in the 1500m T13 event. Corso, who began running at the age of five, according to her bio on the Team USA site, has been a dedicated athlete throughout her life. She ran varsity track and cross country in high school and was introduced to para track and field during her sophomore year.
Lambert, 27, a Manchester native, has an inspiring story of resilience and determination. After losing her left leg in a moped accident in 2016, she made a remarkable comeback, competing in the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics, where she placed sixth in the 100-meter T63 event, setting a new American record.
Lambert, who previously played lacrosse at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, has expanded her athletic repertoire by taking on the long jump. Since beginning her long jump training in January, she has already set an American women’s record in the T63 classification. Lambert’s ultimate goal is to win a medal at the 2024 Paris Paralympics and break the T63 women’s world record of 5.46 meters.
Beyond her athletic pursuits, Lambert is the founder of the Born to Run Foundation, which provides specialized prosthetics to younger adults and children, helping them live fulfilling lives. She continues to train rigorously, balancing her preparation for both the long jump and the 100-meter dash. Follow her journey on Instagram at @noellelambert.
Both Corso and Lambert are among the 225 athletes representing Team USA in Paris, where they hope to bring home medals and inspire others with their achievements. The 2024 Paralympic Games began on August 28 and run through September 8
