CHESTERFIELD, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) – A hiker was successfully rescued after becoming lost in the trail system of Madame Sherri Forest on the evening of September 12, 2024.
Kimberly McCormack, 42, of Athol, MA, was hiking with her dog when she became disoriented as night fell. Realizing she was lost, McCormack called for emergency assistance.
The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department, along with the Chesterfield Police Department, responded to the call. Conservation Officer Ryan Harris arrived at the Anne Stokes Loop trailhead and hiked about a mile to reach McCormack on the Wantastiquet-Monadnock trail around 8:30 p.m. McCormack was provided with a light, and both she and the officer safely hiked back to the trailhead by 9 p.m.
