PUTNEY, VT. (MyKeeneNow) A Putney man faces multiple charges following an alleged firearm-related assault early Saturday morning. Vermont State Police responded to a report of an altercation on Vinegar Lane in Putney around 1:15 a.m. on November 2.
According to police, Zachary Goldberg, 42, allegedly pointed a firearm at an individual, used abusive language with discriminatory intent, and disrupted the peace with threatening behavior. Goldberg was taken into custody on charges that include aggravated assault with a weapon, reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct, criminal threatening, and a hate crime.
He was processed at the Westminster State Police Barracks and subsequently released with a citation and conditions of release. Goldberg is scheduled to appear at Vermont Superior Court’s Windham Criminal Division on Monday, November 4, at 12:30 p.m.
