RINDGE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) Emergency crews responded to a two-car crash on Route 119 Sunday afternoon that left two people hospitalized and temporarily closed a portion of the roadway.
The collision occurred shortly after 1 p.m. near the intersection with North Street. Initial reports prompted first responders to request a medical helicopter, but that plan was later scrapped after on-scene assessments determined the injured parties could be transported by ground ambulance.
According to the Rindge Fire Department, two people were taken to a nearby hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. Two others involved in the crash were evaluated but did not require transport.
The cause of the crash had not yet been determined as of Sunday, and officials noted that first responders encountered slick, icy conditions on Route 119, prompting a temporary shutdown of the road while crews worked. The roadway was reopened once the scene was cleared.
Rindge Fire and Rescue received assistance from Jaffrey-Rindge Memorial Ambulance, Winchendon Ambulance, the Jaffrey Fire Department, Rindge and Jaffrey police, and Gauthier Auto Service.
