KEENE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow)  UPDATE: Police say Patrick Allen Boyer has been apprehended following an extensive search in the Keene and Stoddard area. The shelter-in-place advisory has been lifted and all roads have reopened.

A multi-agency search for a man wanted on felony-level charges continued Friday morning in the Keene area after police said he fled into the woods following a pursuit Thursday afternoon.

New Hampshire State Police and local law enforcement are looking for Patrick Allen Boyer, 39, who police say may be armed. Authorities are advising the public not to approach him and to call 911 to report any suspicious activity.

The Keene Police Department issued a shelter-in-place advisory shortly before 8:30 a.m. Friday for residents in northeast Keene, including areas around Upper Washington Street, Concord Road, Jordan Road, Nims Road, Sullivan Street and Rule Street.

Route 9 is closed between Route 10 and the Sullivan Country Store as police conduct search operations.

SAU 29 Superintendent Robert Malay said Friday morning that all schools within the SAU are operating under emergency procedures and that parents and staff have been notified. SAU 29 includes schools in Chesterfield, Harrisville, Keene, Marlborough, Marlow, Nelson and Westmoreland.

Police have been attempting to locate Boyer since Wednesday evening. According to State Police, he was spotted Thursday afternoon and became involved in a pursuit between Keene and Stoddard. The pursuit was eventually discontinued because of public safety concerns.

State, county and local agencies continued searching the area and located Boyer’s vehicle in Stoddard. Police said Boyer then left the vehicle and fled on foot into a wooded area.

A shelter-in-place advisory issued Thursday night for residents of Stoddard and Nelson was later lifted, according to State Police.

Boyer is described as white, approximately 5 feet, 9 inches tall and 185 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, white undershirt and dark pants.

Police are asking residents in areas affected by the search to remain vigilant, secure their homes and avoid approaching anyone matching Boyer’s description.

The investigation and search remain active Friday morning.
