BRATTLEBORO, VT (MyKeeneNow) A lengthy investigation by the Vermont Drug Task Force led to the arrest of two Connecticut residents Thursday in connection with fentanyl and cocaine sales in Brattleboro.

Rondale Mapp, 38, and Rayteisha Hernandez, 30, both of Hartford, were taken into custody after authorities executed an operation at 50 Central St.. According to investigators, the arrests followed months of undercover work involving confidential informants who allegedly purchased drugs from Mapp on four occasions and Hernandez on three.

Hernandez was reportedly found carrying a glassine bag of fentanyl at the time of her arrest, which officials believe was transported from outside Vermont. Both suspects were processed at the Brattleboro Police Department before being transferred to the Southern State Correctional Facility in Springfield.

Mapp, already on probation in Vermont for a previous narcotics conviction, now faces additional charges. His bail was set at $50,000. In addition to drug sales charges, the Brattleboro Probation & Parole Office has accused him of violating his probation.

Hernandez faces multiple counts of drug sales and possession, with bail set at $25,000.

Both are scheduled to appear in the Criminal Division of Vermont Superior Court in Brattleboro at 12:30 p.m. on Friday.

The Windham County State’s Attorney’s Office is prosecuting the case. Authorities urge anyone with information related to the investigation to contact Vermont State Police at 802-722-4600 or submit a tip anonymously at vsp.vermont.gov/tipsubmit.
