KEENE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) Several streets in Keene will see construction activity and traffic adjustments this week as the city’s Public Works Department moves forward with multiple infrastructure projects.

Work is set to begin Tuesday morning on Marlboro Street, where crews from Mike Edwards Construction will install water and sewer lines near 308–310 Marlboro St. The project will run from May 5 through May 7, with alternating one-way traffic in place during daytime work hours. Normal traffic patterns are expected to resume each evening.

Also on Tuesday, contractors will perform storm drain lining on Bellevue Court near Eastern Avenue starting at 8 a.m. Drivers can expect a temporary traffic shift around the work zone, with the project scheduled for completion by the end of the day.

Meanwhile, utility work tied to the ongoing George Street bridge replacement will continue throughout the week. George Street will remain closed near 44 George St., with a detour in place. On Wednesday beginning at 8 a.m., a water main shutdown will affect properties from 56 George St. to Knight Street. Residents in the impacted area have already been notified, and water service is expected to be restored later that day.

A shorter-duration project is planned for Wednesday afternoon on Winchester Court. Beginning at 3 p.m., Rowell Septic Service will repair a sewer connection near 16 Winchester Court. Traffic will be shifted around the work zone, with normal conditions anticipated to return by approximately 6 p.m.

City officials are urging motorists to slow down in work zones, follow posted signage, and allow extra travel time. Public Works thanked residents for their patience as these projects move forward.
