RINDGE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) – Police have identified those involved in an afternoon crash in Rindge Sunday.
According to an updated news release from the Rindge Police Department on Monday, police and fire personnel responded to the scene on Route 119 near Boss Contractors around 12:35 Sunday afternoon for a report of a two-vehicle crash.
Following an investigation, police determined that a 2008 Subaru Impreza was stopped in the eastbound breakdown lane of Route 119. As an eastbound 2024 Nissan Frontier approached, the driver of the Subaru, identified as Michael Chandler, 48, of Jaffrey, started to perform a U-turn onto Route 119 westbound, colliding with the passenger side of the Nissan.
Katherine Ashmore, 31, of Rindge, a passenger in the Nissan, was trapped inside the vehicle and needed to be extricated. She sustained several fractured ribs and other injuries and was transported to Monadnock Community Hospital and later released. A 1-year-old passenger was taken to the hospital as a precaution and had no injuries, and the driver of the Nissan, Troy Ashmore, 31, of Rindge, along with Chandler and his passenger, were uninjured.
The crash remains under investigation by the Jaffrey Police Department, because Troy Ashmore is an employee of the Town of Rindge.
Police say both vehicles are likely to be deemed total losses.
Witnesses with any further information are asked to contact Jaffrey Sergeant Thomas Bishop at (603) 532-7865 or Rindge Chief Rachel D. Malynowski at (603) 899-5009.
